From my EMT friend: You are not going to believe me when I tell you that earlier this week a 37-year-old female called 9-1-1 for her sore throat and not feeling well for a few days and, yes, I did drive her to the hospital by ambulance. Then, of course, the ER asks me, “She went by ambulance for this?” Why do I get asked this? Why do they not ask the patient? Furthermore, we are here in America and, of course, we cannot refuse a person who wants to go to the hospital by ambulance. In a way, I am sure that my company gladly bills for the services.
