The Nocturne requires plenty of practice because there are key changes and accidental changes, reversals, I call them, natural to flat or sharp, and back, plus double flats and polyrhythms. Classical music is like math, only in the first case, the composer writes out the directions for you. Above the notes are fingering numbers, 1 for the thumb, 2 for the forefinger, etcetera. C indicates four beats per measure. Ped is for pedal, and something resembling greater than and less than symbols tell the pianist to increase or decrease the sound. The piece is difficult, but not purposely. Chopin just wanted to achieve a certain effect.
