I wish my piano teacher had introduced me to Field (b. 1782 Ireland, d. 1837 Russia), more my style than Chopin (b. 1810 Poland, d. 1849 France). Giving up piano in high school to concentrate on academics was a mistake in the short term.
Homeschooling is now my choice for students. It is flexible and allows a student to choose his or her own path. By 14, I knew what I wanted to know. Children are greatly underestimated.
College I would have reordered. English is all about literary criticism, in which I had no interest, and creative writing was not an option: I had not lived enough to permit. A classics department looks pretty good.
College general education requirements are nothing but a repetition of high school. High school and college need to be combined and shortened. Fairy tale! Therefore, I’d choose Thomas Aquinas College (TAC) for Catholics or “Nones”.
