Emotions are a gift from God. Catholics are wrong when they say emotions have little value. I will not acquiesce to thoughts about my dead parents, because I will fall into profound grief. However, reasons to be Catholic arise from gratefulness for emotions and thoughts, parents and siblings, schools and mountains, the foghorn on the Golden Gate Bridge, and a host of other wonders.
