Anthony Stine reads a speech given by Pius IX (1792-1878). One would think that the speech is old and outdated, but it is shockingly not and is worth a listen. Anthony gives some context to the speech and some of his own commentary. Anthony does a lot of research on matters affecting the Catholic Church today, and I subscribe to his YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XURl2gBrHxQ This speech is very learned, and long, complex sentences exemplify the time. Pius is speaking directly to us as Catholics and/or Americans.
Francis is one of the worst popes ever. Outside of governments, the Catholic Church is the largest provider of health care, education, and charity. Francis has done absolutely nothing in these areas. He could have unified efforts in these three areas and made them even stronger. Nope. Instead, he attacks faithful Catholics. Every time he says something derogatory, I know it is aimed at me.
We are totally loyal to the Church. We pray for him every Sunday. If I say the Morning Offering, I pray for him then, too, but otherwise I offer nothing for this man, and my prayer is for his enlightenment only. I do that when there is nothing else to do.
