The Queen’s arrival in London is amazing. With thousands of people standing, cars and trucks stopped and their inhabitants outside, Princess Anne is accompanying her mother all the long miles and many hours. The lead-lined Land Rover hearse of English Oak is lit from inside so that everyone can see the Queen. First a colonel, then colonel-in-chief, then commander-in-chief, the Queen is the only monarch ever known by an estimated 80% or more of Britons. It is raining.
