Father Curtis, FSSP, told us today that Jaime Soto, Sacramento bishop since 2007, has been very good to us, the Latin Mass community, amidst the possibility that the diocese might face insolvency because of clerical abuse cases none of us could have imagined. We will be very supportive of him in the coming weeks. The diocese has just over 1 million members and approximately 3,500 Catholics per priest, a big shortage.

A bishop with sympathy for the TLM is a treasured human asset for the ecclesiastical life! I hope the best for this praiseworthy shepard!

Yes, Joe, the Latin Mass parish started around 2000 and has generously supported the diocese ever since. The first parishioners raised the money to purchase an old, non-Catholic church building and furnish it. I joined in 2020. Bob
