In my 11/9/2022 post is a short story by American author Kate Chopin (d. 1904). A short bio reveals surprising details about Kate and her struggle to write while raising five boys and two girls. A son worked at the San Francisco Examiner as a cartoonist. She is compared to Stephen Crane and San Francisco author Frank Norris, whom I have read, and now one story by the lady buried in St. Louis’ Calvary Cemetery.
