I don't enjoy calling people out, but sometimes one must. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, a Methodist and self-proclaimed lesbian in a same-sex marriage, received Holy Communion at a funeral Mass today for Officer Ella French, 29, a Catholic murdered while doing a traffic stop. Lightfoot is not permitted. Communion means what it means, communion with Christ and His Church. This rule applies everywhere and at all times and always has.
