Here is a short list of the differences between me and Pope Francis.
(1) I loved the original Mass; he hated it. (2) I loved everything about becoming a Catholic, which occurred at eight years of age; he hated everything about being a Catholic, which occurred at birth. (3) I am a lover; he is not a lover. (4) I am grateful for love; he is not.
“You are a jealous love thief, and you — and your kind — made me run away, but I’ve returned to the first infatuation, and she is older and finer than you.”
With muscle and blood, I will hold on to the first love. Grant unto us the Christian peoples, we beseech Thee, O Lord, both to acknowledge the things they profess and to love heavenly mysteries which they frequent. Through our Lord. 1962 Missal
