Neither airplanes, planets, nor stars behave that way. The dogs sense it and are barking their alert or alarm. That is a natural behavior used to communicate the presence of visitors, new sights, or unfamiliar noises to the pack.

​Popocatépetl is an active stratovolcano located in the states of Puebla, Morelos, and Mexico in central Mexico. It lies in the eastern half of the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt. At about 5,393 meters it is the second highest peak in Mexico, after Citlaltépetl at about 5,636 meters, both almost 18,000 feet.

By comparison, the highest mountain in the states, excluding Alaska, is Mount Whitney in California at about 14,500 feet, but not a volcano.

While it lacks the world title, Popocatépetl is Mexico's most closely monitored volcano. It has been in a near-constant state of explosive activity and venting since 2005, making it a major concern for volcanologists and civil defense.
