This strange method of discipline You mentioned I did not experience at my school, maybe it was something special American.

It's rumor but not unfounded. Back then, the Jebs did not brook disobedience. I like that. Most of the students, if not all, at my parish are homeschooled. It has just one drawback - experiencing what I did, having a home away from home. Sadly, I don't think that kind of school environment exists in very many places anymore.
