In an article written for The Atlantic by Ilana Masad and dated Dec. 18, 2022, six classics were recommended. I have read two, one of which I will mention here because it is the best Victorian novel: Vanity Fair by William Makepeace Thackery, originally published in a 19-volume monthly serial from 1847 to 1848, carrying the subtitle “Pen and Pencil Sketches of English Society”.
