A teacher at Roosevelt Elementary School in Cocoa Beach, Florida, Karly Anderson, was arrested in connection with hosting an underage drinking party at the principal's house in January 2025. She faced charges of child neglect and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The principal, Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan, was also arrested on similar charges, plus an additional charge for hosting an open house party. Both were placed on leave during the investigation. Anderson resigned and was convicted. When a person is unresponsive and there is the smell or presence of alcohol, an officer makes a call for possible alcohol poisoning. I did take students to the emergency room for a variety of reasons, such as illness or injury, but others preferred an ambulance do a transport.
