Only a Catholic priest is competent to conduct an exorcism. The exorcist must be appointed by a bishop, and in this case, it would have been the Catholic bishop of San Jose, CA. It appears that there was no basis for an exorcism at all. All persons are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Stay away from these 'basement churches'. Often they are begun to make money, and often they pop up near Catholic churches.
