Juneteenth street party, June 19, 2023, ends in violence at Los Angeles McDonald’s. The new federal holiday gives federal employees a day off from work, but workers in the real world keep working. It became a federal holiday in 2021, after Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act. What warrants a new federal holiday? Violence? It wastes material and manpower.
