The Edgar Degas sculpture, Little Dancer Aged Fourteen, at the National Gallery of Art in D.C., was defaced. Fortunately, it appears that the case protecting the sculpture was defaced, not the sculpture itself. "Climate activists" from Declare Emergency did it. The gallery said that she is one of the most vulnerable and fragile works they have. Charge: conspiracy to commit an offense against the United States and injury to a National Gallery of Art exhibit. Date: 1878-1881 Medium: pigmented beeswax, clay, metal armature, rope, paintbrushes, human hair, silk and linen ribbon, cotton faille bodice, cotton and silk tutu, linen slippers, on wooden base Collection: Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mellon Number: 1999.80.28
