“It was during this time of vicious persecution of Catholics that Our Lady appeared to the Catholic faithful cowering in the dense forests. When the wave of persecutions began, Catholicism was firmly entrenched in the hearts of its faithful in Vietnam. As early as 1698, Catholics suffered for the Faith. During the back-and-forth years of the 1700’s and 1800’s, more than one hundred thousand Catholic Vietnamese were martyred. Even today, with a Communist government in charge, bishops and priests are harassed, and the status of the Church is not strong.” Complete story dated January 24, 2013, at https://catholicism.org/our-lady-of-la-vang-the-catholic-side-of-vietnam.html History repeats, and all of it is present to God the Father. Baby geese hatch in about a month with their eyes open and are covered with soft feathers called down. They leave the nest within 24 hours and follow their parents. Nine hatched this year. Here are three in a photo I snapped today.
Our Latin Mass parish of about 1,500 has 100% attendance at Sunday Mass.
A recent Associated Press poll indicated that church attendance has not returned to 2019 levels. “Among Catholics, 26% attend in person at least weekly now, compared with 30% in 2019. In the 2020 poll, conducted as many bishops temporarily waived the obligation for weekly Mass attendance [COVID dispensation], just 5% were worshipping in person at least weekly,” the poll reported. National Catholic Register, January 3, 2022 Sunday Mass is obligatory unless one is sick or incapacitated, in which case communion can be brought to the home. However, we have so many parishioners who come great distances, as much as 140 miles in one direction, that in-home communion is difficult. Therefore, one must make every effort. If necessary, one can go to another parish. As to the Latin, almost everyone has a Latin-English Missal. If not, more than enough missals are provided. Complete facility with Latin is just another misconception. Radical, Revolutionary Change (not, this is how it was done in the Middle Ages) I would change our educational system by having monks teach children. Some monks would be cloistered and some would not, so that they could conduct school. Primary/secondary/postsecondary education would be compressed (easily) and end after 13 years, excluding kindergarten (taught by women), and there would be no debt. By 19, or sooner for the gifted, a Catholic student would be ready for a professional education in art, music, medicine, business, writing, one of the branches of STEM, etcetera. Our current educational system is dysfunctional in that it prolongs babyhood. Catholics would have to begin to create their own system and reject the current. This is the one area where the vexatious pope could have contributed his time and means. Why vexatious? Because he has made 16 accusations against me. Search my blog for the entry, and I have proof, but I will make it easy and reduce the 16 to two: rigid and sick. At 12:07 is a most beautiful tenor voice. His first words are super exordium, beginning exhortation. Every tenor strives to hit the high notes. See YouTube for the list of singing groups, which include children. Flaran Abbey was lost to the French Revolution. I finally did it. I cancelled cable television - all television - permanently. The immorality and wokeness had infected everything.
After Vatican II, and not instituted by Vatican II, came this interim thing, which I remember from sophomore year in high school, the first time the priest faced toward us boys (versus populum). Notice, the language is still Latin. Then came the modern Mass (1969-70), a concoction of Bugnini, the lying Martin Luther, and some other chumps. Please look at Mass of the Ages under the More tab. What a revelation it has been to learn about what was going on while I was in high school and so gullible, as one is, at that age. One time we had a French bread round for communion bread. I did not want a Che Guevara leading me then (or now): I wanted someone solid, reputable, reliable, committed to me, to himself, and to God. Ontario Catholic teachers’ union promotes critical race theory and trans ideology in summer book club Report dated May 31, 2022. Even Catholic schoolteachers have fallen. This is what happens when there is no leadership from church officials. Teachers and their students should read the classics or stories from a number of other genres. My recommendations are scattered about in the English category. How wrong it is to abuse the young. Choose homeschooling.

We had two boys in high school in the early 60s who placed 10th nationally in debating. I met one of them years later, Dave Mezzera, and I knew his younger brother, Bob. In high school I was impressed with the debaters and the ability to speak extemporaneously. I thought of them as well-dressed, well-mannered, well-spoken young men not easily embarrassed, what I wanted to be. On the popular stage today are poorly dressed, ill-mannered, foul-mouthed male and female bullies. The Americans with No Abilities Act 2022 (ANA)
Democratic Senators are considering introducing legislation that will provide new benefits for many more Americans. The Americans with No Abilities Act is being hailed as a major legislative goal by advocates of the millions of Americans who lack any real skills and ambition. “Roughly 50 percent of Americans do not possess the competence and drive necessary to carve out a meaningful role for themselves in society,” said VP Kamala Harris. “We can no longer stand by and allow People of Inability (POI) to be ridiculed and passed over. With this legislation, employers will no longer be able to grant special favors to a small group of workers, simply because they have some idea of what they are doing.” She then repeated, “You know, what they are doing.” In a Capitol Hill press conference, Nancy Pelosi stated: “Under the Americans with No Abilities Act, more than 25 million mid-level positions will be created, with important-sounding titles but little real responsibility, thus providing an illusory sense of purpose and performance.” Finally, the Americans with No Abilities Act contains tough new measures to make it more difficult to discriminate against the non-abled, banning, for example, discriminatory interview questions, such as, “Do you have any skills or experience that relate to this job?” “As a non-abled person, I can’t be expected to keep up with people who have something going for them,” said Mary Lou Megahertz, who lost her position as a lug-nut twister at the Toyota plant in Georgetown, KY, because she could not remember “righty tighty, lefty loosey”. “This new law should be real good for people like me. I’ll finally have job security.” With the passage of this bill, Megahertz and millions of other untalented citizens will finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. Said Maxine Waters: “As a congress-fluid with no abilities, I believe the same privileges that elected officials enjoy ought to be extended to every American with no abilities. It is our duty as lawmakers to provide each American citizen, regardless of his or her inadequacy, with some sort of space to take up in this great nation and a good salary for doing so.” Who is crawling around inside the box of liars?
US president, pope and curia, leaders of Congress, United Nations, European Union, California governor, media, big corporate leaders, charities, universities, radicalized teachers, illegal immigrants, smugglers, homeless, drug addicts, criminals, entertainment moguls, Marxists, communists, and anarchists. All of them are caricatures of humans, living off the efforts and good will of others. They remind me of a Twilight Zone episode, one of the best, called “The Masks”. It aired on March 20, 1964. In this episode, set on Mardi Gras, a dying man coerces his relatives into wearing grotesque masks that reflect their true personalities. It has taken me all these years to know our reality. Philip Kosloski, writer for Aleteia, pub 10/31/17, explains - “…white martyrdom is typically defined as being persecuted for the faith, but never shedding any blood. It consists of living a life boldly for Christ, yet never being asked to die for it. “Green martyrdom, on the other hand, is more specific and focuses on extreme penance and fasting out of love for God. This type of martyrdom is usually associated with the hermits of Egypt, who greatly influenced Irish monasticism. This accounts for why many Irish monks sought out places of extreme solitude and harsh weather; the monastery atop Skellig Michael being a perfect example of both. “Red martyrdom, of course, refers to giving one’s physical life, bearing witness unto death. Red in this case is associated with the shedding of blood.” I think the monks of Papa Stronsay would fit green martyrdom. I prefer, “wet martyr”, a person who has shed blood or been executed for the faith; and “dry martyr”, a person who has suffered every indignity and cruelty but not shed blood. Dry we are. |
