I got mixed up today on which Mass was being said and found I was one week ahead of myself, but in the process, I found another beautiful sounding Latin word, vobismetipsis, with accent on the penultimate syllable. It means, “for yourselves.” The word is found in Paul’s Epistle to the Colossians, 3, 12-17. In that passage, Paul gives a blueprint for right living, and the passage says, “… et donantes vobismetipsis si quis adversus aliquem habet querelam: ….”, translated as, “… and forgiving one another, if you have a complaint against another, ….”
We get the word “quarrel” from querelam.
