Soros Clinton Francis

Pro-Hamas protest organizers receive financial support from George Soros.
https://americandigest.com/pro-hamas-protest-organizers-receive-financial-support-from-george-soros/?

Soros, this sphinx, this “ spiritual guardian,” is sponsoring a pagan’s putsch. Born 1930, he is a citizen of Hungary and the United States and ought to stay out of the conflict.
Following is what the Catholic News Agency (CNA) had to say about the Bill Clinton visit to the Vatican on July 5, 2023.

“As CNA previously reported, Open Society Foundations and its aligned groups have funded efforts to legalize abortion in Ireland, Poland, Mexico, and other traditionally Catholic countries.

“The Soros network has also funded efforts to change the political priorities of American Catholics and to pass strongly pro-abortion legislation, such as a Michigan ballot measure to declare abortion a constitutional right.

“The foundations’ founder George Soros, who has described himself as a foe of “totalizing, extremist ideologies,” has claimed success in undermining South African apartheid and in liberalizing his home country of Hungary and the Soviet Union itself.

“The Open Society Foundations give more than $1.5 billion a year to human rights and democracy advocates, among other causes, in the U.S. and around the world.

“Alex Soros, 37, told The Wall Street Journal last month he is ‘more political’ than his father and he plans to have a larger focus on U.S. domestic politics. Voting rights and abortion rights are among his causes.

“Soros also heads an Open Society Foundations-aligned political action committee called Democracy PAC, which has about $125 million to spend on domestic U.S. politics.”

A pope meets current heads of state as a diplomatic courtesy. Attending a meeting virtually on September 18, 2023, Francis had this to say to the Clinton Foundation: “Both things, children and climate change. Please on climate change, let us take action before it’s too late.”

What is he? Scientist, politician, or pope?

calumny

Noun. Objectively, a calumny is a mortal sin when calculated to do serious harm to the person so traduced.

Just as in the instance of wrongful damage to person or property, so the calumniator is bound to adequate reparation for the injury perpetrated by the blackening of another’s good name.

Acts of reparation would be discussed in confession.

This is a new word for my student, and I looked it up to be assured of how to use it in a sentence and as a reminder regarding blog statements.

Sometimes there is a fine line between calumny and truth. My nana avoided saying anything negative about a person. I’m not my nana, and so I face decisions she sidelined. If a woman was heavy, she would say, “My, isn’t she a big girl?

perfidious

Perfidious – adjective, describing a breach of faith or trust, treachery, as in “We were betrayed by a perfidious ally.”

It comes from Latin perfidia “faithlessness, falsehood, treachery” from perfidus “faithless” from the phrase per fidem decipere “to deceive through trustingness” from per “through,” hence through + fidem (nominative case fides) “faith”.

We prayed for the conversion of Jews and Muslims on this Christ the King Sunday, and this caused me to do a little research. The word perfidious in relation to Jews was removed some time ago. Regardless, we must pray and be a good example for Jews and Muslims.

What are his stats? Seminarians - 0, buried priests - 300, ordained priests - 15.

Overbeck underperforms.

Where does it begin? Outer space begins at 62 miles above sea level. The Kármán line, named after Hungarian American physicist Theodore von Kármán, was set by The Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI), a world governing body for air sports. Established in the 1960s, the edge of space is not universally accepted.

Litany of Humility

O Jesus! meek and humble of heart, Hear me.
From the desire of being esteemed,
Deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being loved …
From the desire of being extolled …
From the desire of being honored …
From the desire of being praised …
From the desire of being preferred to others …
From the desire of being consulted …
From the desire of being approved …
From the fear of being humiliated …
From the fear of being despised …
From the fear of suffering rebukes …
From the fear of being calumniated …
From the fear of being forgotten …
From the fear of being ridiculed …
From the fear of being wronged …
From the fear of being suspected …
That others may be loved more than I,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be esteemed more than I …
That, in the opinion of the world,
others may increase and I may decrease …
That others may be chosen and I set aside …
That others may be praised and I unnoticed …
That others may be preferred to me in everything …
That others may become holier than I, provided that I may become as holy as I should …

Angels

10/26/2023

According to St. Thomas Aquinas, angels cannot read our thoughts. “God alone can know the thoughts of hearts and affections of wills.”

But
the angels—our guardian angels especially—can often tell what we’re thinking based on physical cues such as facial expressions. It makes sense, if you think about it. A family member or a good friend can often tell what we’re thinking or feeling just by the slump of our shoulders or very slight smile on our faces.

“
Angels can know specific thoughts that we willfully desire to communicate with them…Therefore, as soon as we make the decision to speak with or to pray to the angels, they will become aware of what we want to communicate to them.

Annabel Lee

10/25/2023

A general rule in prose writing is to avoid repetition, but not in poetry, not in music, not in the Bible, and not at Mass (The Last Gospel and Prayers at the Foot of the Altar), and Edgar Allan Poe, too, makes use of repetition with great effect in “The Bells”, “The Raven”, and “Annabel Lee”.

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
   By the name of Annabel Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea,
But we loved with a love that was more than love--
   I and my Annabel Lee--
With a love that the wingèd seraphs of Heaven
   Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
   My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsmen came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea.

The angels, not half so happy in Heaven,
   Went envying her and me--
Yes!—that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we--
Of many far wiser than we--
And neither the angels in Heaven above
Nor the demons down under the sea
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
   Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;

For the moon never beams, without bringing me dreams
   Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise, but I feel the bright eyes
   Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling—my darling—my life and my bride,
In her sepulchre there by the sea--
In her tomb by the sounding sea.

good popes

For 112 years popes said that modernism is the synthesis of all heresies, from Pius IX 1846-1878 to Pius XII 1939-1958. What is it? Download and read the source below. It gives a more thorough explanation than I can give. Here is a quote to get you started.
“Etymologically, modernism means an exaggerated love of what is modern, an infatuation for modern ideas, ‘the abuse of what is modern’, as the Abbé Gaudaud explains (La Foi catholique, I, 1908, p. 248).

Ukraine & Tchaikovsky

Could he play this super hard piece himself? You bet, and yet he probably committed suicide. I read the Holden biography, and T so undervalued his worth as a man and composer.

Some want to strike him another blow. “In the wake of Russia’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, students at the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine, previously known as the Kyiv Conservatory, have pushed for the removal of the Russian composer’s name from their university.”

Note: the entire concerto is about 38 minutes.

father murr interview

YouTube adds an unnecessary caption about Freemasonry by referring to Britannica, hinting at a bias. Murr was in the trenches and here displays higher mastery of the subject matter than either organization. Murr worked closely with Cardinal Gagnon.

God steered my course away from all these “movements,” including the charismatics and, in His time, away from a bogus church created in the late 60s. My participation goes no further than the parish level and the Latin Mass, whose origin is traceable to Pope St. Victor I (A.D. 199) and the Last Supper (search the blog for proofs). The FSSP provides the sacraments and a Confraternity.

mummified fingerprints

Mummies have fingerprints.
Mummification works by drying out soft tissue, such as skin, which halts decomposition and preserves the body, fingerprints included.
Recovering the fingertip impressions isn’t easy, but it is possible. The job requires soaking or injecting mummified hands with hydrating solutions that plump the tips.
Then the fingertips are inked and copied.

Lloyd Billingsley from American Greatness wrote a fine story today about Suzanne Somers, a San Francisco Bay Area girl. She’s had many tributes. I’m going to borrow and shorten his story to an explanation of the movie and its fantastic dialog. Following is a clipped version.

Suzanne Somers first appeared on screen in American Graffiti, directed by an upstart named George Lucas…. Somers plays a ‘blonde in T-Bird’ and through the window she mouths the words, “I love you,” to Curt Henderson (Richard Dreyfuss), cruising the streets with his sister Laurie Henderson (Cindy Williams) and boyfriend Steve Bolander (Ron Howard).

“I just saw a vision, I saw a goddess,” Curt says, “the most perfect dazzling creature I’ve ever seen. She spoke to me right through the window. I think she said, ‘I love you.’ That means nothing to you people? You have no romance, no soul?”
The blonde is variously described as the wife of a local jeweler and a prostitute. Curt continues his pursuit, interrupted by an encounter with the “Pharaohs” gang, led by Joe, wonderfully played by Bo Hopkins.
Curt is slated to leave for college the next day, so he seeks out disc jockey Wolfman Jack, played by the real Wolfman, Robert Weston Smith.
“I’m looking for this girl,” Henderson says.
“Yeah, aren’t we all,” responds the Wolfman, who airs a message to the girl in the white T-bird to meet or call Curt at Burger City, “or the Wolfman gonna getcha!”
Henderson parks his Citroen near the phone booth and falls asleep. The ring wakes him up, and for the first time, viewers hear the words of Suzanne Somers.
“Curt?”
“Yes, yes, this is Curt. Who are you?”
“Who are you expecting?”
“Do you drive a white T-bird?
“A white ‘56. I saw you on Third Street.”
“Who are you? Do you know me?” he asks.
“Of course.”
“How do you know me?”
“It’s not important.”
“It’s important. It’s important to me. You’re the most beautiful, exciting thing I’ve ever seen in my life, and I don’t know anything about you. Listen, listen, listen, could we meet someplace?” he asks.
“I cruise Third Street. Maybe I’ll see you tonight.”
“No, I don’t think so.”
“Curt. . .”
“Tell me your name, at least tell me your name.”
“Goodbye, Curt.” And the blonde hangs up.

The next morning Curt boards the plane to fly back east. In the movie’s final scene, he looks out the window and there is the white T-Bird cruising the highway. Curt’s wistful expression says it all.

Sapphire (film on race)

Five stars for this British film, set in London, the best (police procedural) I’ve ever seen on the subject of race, from all sides. The only person who is not prejudiced is the police superintendent, but then he would have to be to solve a murder. His interviews lead the way. Many people would not trust the police, which is sad today.
My only quarrel is with how the knife was handled - gloveless. Nigel Patrick, the lead actor, was Catholic.

Throw away all your notions of what a Catholic monk is and just know that this is what God wants of him and he knows it. These guys sing every day and are as good as professionals. Listen to them sing the office here barrouxchant.com/ or daily Mass in Latin instead of their YouTube channel.

Microphones are sensitive to extraneous noises and the bells, and the setup is definitely 21st century technology. France has the largest Latin Mass community after the USA. Sainte-Anne School, grades K to 6, is associated with the monastery. I am acquainted with a well-known priest-monk, Dom Alcuin Reid, Prior, San Benoit Monastery in France.
