Brothers Lucas Jussen (born Feb. 27, 1993) and Arthur Jussen (born Sept. 28, 1996) perform on stage as a Dutch duo. Very unusual. Here they play Schubert. I wish we had had that much cooperation in the back seat of the car as these young men on the piano bench, and presently I would like to hire their tailor.
I discovered another piano duo: Christina and Michelle Naughton, sisters. They replaced the brothers when they had to cancel a concert. Still unusual. (The Hornbostel-Sachs system classifies a piano as a percussive chordophone instrument, and like a lyre, pictured on the Steinway, or harp, it has very taut strings stretched between two points. When the strings vibrate, they produce sound. Moving a piano requires about 10,000 men. A Steinway refinisher told me he applies 15 layers of shellac. The underside of the cover is not a mirror.
