​Vatican II was a monumental waste of time and money, the result of men sitting around with nothing better to do than try to rewrite the deposit of faith and history, borne by unrealism, with no effect on the lives of everyday Catholics, except to drive so many out. Long ago I owned a paperback issue of the documents, never read a word, and threw it away. Something, my conscience, God, I don't know what, told me to read a good piece of literature instead, and I did.
