A parishioner told me there are many women who, silently and without any recognition or pay, take care of St. Stephen the First Martyr Catholic Church, like the women who met Jesus along the Way of the Cross. They arrange the flowers, clean, starch, and iron the linens, replace the candles, and dust all surfaces.
