The science fiction novel is 311 pages, approximately 63,500 words. To give some context, Pretty City Murder is 342 pages, approximately 87,500 words. Following is a one-hour, recorded radio drama, narrated by Mr. Huxley. Bernard Herrmann composed the music, and various actors participated. The novel was published in 1932 but is brilliantly and boldly ahead of its time. Aquinas (1225-1274) gave us the word "utopia". Hopkins (1844-1889) graduated in Classics (Latin and Greek). Huxley (1894-1963) graduated in English Literature from the same college as Hopkins. 8 x 12 = 96 and 8 x 11 = 88 (12 and then there were 11 apostles) The nursery sounds an awful lot like an altar.

I was always thinking that our world would more become "Huxleyesk" than "Orwellian", with drugs, shale pleasures, etc. But now, with high inflation, economic crisises, sophisticated surveillance techniques, it has also got a stark tendency to Orwell's dystopia...

Why am I surprised by how well-read you are? I have read almost nothing by German authors. My education has extended beyond the borders of the USA and England only through Latin.
