Is changing B.C. and A.D. to BCE and CE the first sign, or just one of many signs, of a repeat?

On 7/27/1794, Thermidor 9, Year II, according to the new calendar, the Thermidorian Reaction arrested Citizen Robespierre, lawyer and politician, and removed him from office.

On 7/28/1794, the guillotine king was guillotined. More than 17,000 “enemies of the revolution” were murdered, mostly by that blade. His face does not deserve to be seen here, but the place of his arrest does.​
