Paragraph 475, states: “Similarly, at the Sixth ecumenical council, Constantinople III in 681, the Church confessed that Christ possesses two wills and two natural operations, divine and human.”

Church councils convened throughout history to reject the screwball ideas that people came up with regarding the faith.

​Pasquale Cati (1550–1620); date—1588; work period—mannerism; location—Santa Maria in Trastvere, Rome. Small scenes on the ceiling are of better treatment by Cati than the larger side panels. The woman in front in papal regalia is not Pope Joan [nonexistent] but the Church Triumphant, robed in the splendor of doctrinal clarity.

The dove, representing the Holy Ghost, appears in the upper left quadrant. The bird is the most common symbol of the Holy Ghost. In the Old Testament, it was a dove that signaled the end of the flood. When Jesus was baptized by St. John the Baptist, the heavens were opened and the Holy Ghost descended upon Our Lord as a dove.

The painting made me laugh. The men look all solemn and dignified. The women look to be in a chat session after electing a club leader, and the loser is on the floor.
