​Reading: Graham Greene’s novel, The Power and the Glory, clearly is forbidden. A Catholic priest redeemed from drink and an affair by execution during the Cristero War in Mexico we are not allowed to read, though the fictional character be imbued with flawed heroism.

Dancing: One condition is that Muslim women should not dance on occasions where there is alcohol, and no gender mixing is allowed when women are allowed to dance. Muslim women are also allowed to dance only when they display no feminine movements. By extension this would apply to all women.

Music: only vocals but not instruments; vocals but only if the audience is of the same gender; vocals and drums, or vocals and traditional one-sided drum and tambourine, none passionate or sexually suggestive

Thus, viewing or participating in a ballet based on Romeo and Juliet with orchestral music by Prokofiev is disallowed Muslim women. Debilitating.
