My research shows that the Licentiate in Sacred Theology (S.T.L.) is a two-year degree in advanced theological study giving students two full years of study beyond other degrees. Per the FSSP website, this faculty educates 170 students. The annual cost is about $30,000, of which students are asked to pay $7,000. Benefactors big and small (no government entities) make up the difference. Degrees matter to powers but not to me. Has the teacher learned how to teach by watching good ones do it, and does he love his students and want them to succeed? Students have corrected my tutoring errors aplenty.
