Here is a presentation by the author of a historical novel based on a true story involving demonic possession. Its title is The Wizard Clip Haunting: A True Early American Ghost Story.

The exorcist is Father Dennis Cahill. The subject is farmer Adam Livingston.

One of the other priests whose help the author sought was Father Gallitzin, son of a Prussian countess and Prince Dimitri Alexeievich, Russian ambassador to the Netherlands, intimate friend of Voltaire, and follower of Diderot.

​I post not because I read the book but to illustrate that much research precedes a historical novel.
