Henry Essex Edgeworth (1745-1807), Edgeworthstown, County Longford, Ireland, son of Robert Edgeworth, Church of Ireland. His father converted and emigrated to Toulouse, France, where the boy was brought up by the Jesuits. After his father's death, he went to Paris for study and devoted himself to the Irish and English Catholics.
