The Spanish understand Jesus and Mary. Here they are brought face to face. Jesus is dressed in a beautiful but simple white robe and hands are tied. His mother is dressed in every adornment possible. That is the way He sees her, and those are rose petals on the canopy and her embroidered robe. The Hispanic character in my novel (gave him a lot of text time) cries out to Jesus once, and once to his own mother, as implied by the police inspector on the Bridge. Kevin Martin, experienced SFPD, helped write what ensued. The men carrying Him look up to Him so woefully.
