Plenilune is a noun meaning “full moon”. It derives from Latin plenitas “fullness”, from plenus “complete, full”, and luna “moon”. Think of the English word, “plenty”. A little girl at St. Stephen is named Luna. She has plenty of freckles. Like Tolkien, Alexander, nine, my writing boy, likes to invent words. Next time we meet I’m gonna give him this one, “You’re pleniloony.” Yours truly is his slang giver, a hangover from youth.
