Did you know that earth has four sections? They are man made. The hemispheres divide the world. The equator separates the Northern and Southern hemispheres at zero degrees latitude. The prime meridian separates the Western and Eastern hemispheres at zero degrees longitude. Any line of longitude could serve as the zero-longitude line. However, earthlings agreed that the meridian that runs through Greenwich, England, would be, and is, the prime meridian.
