Corona was the wife of a Roman soldier, and Victor was a Roman soldier.

Their martyrdoms occurred during the reign of Antoninus Pius or Diocletian, and the Roman Martyrology states that it was in the third century when they met their deaths, which would point to Diocletian.

Foolhardy it was to pray for the intercession of St. Corona just because her name, which means “crown” in Latin, bore a resemblance to the 2020 virus.

​The Sun’s corona is the outermost part of the its atmosphere. The corona is usually hidden by the bright light of the Sun’s surface. That makes it difficult to see without using special instruments. However, the corona can be viewed during a total solar eclipse.
